Over 50 organisations came together under the Stand4Uyghurs campaign to highlight China’s Genocide Against Uyghur Muslims’ outside the Chinese Embassy in central London. People called for an end to the genocide and presented a list of demands, which included shutting down the concentration camps where Uyghur Muslims are being held and tortured, putting a stop to forced labor, bringing back missing children and sharing information about missing individuals, and ceasing the sterilization of the Chinese Muslim community. Stand4Uyghurs is a coalition-based campaign aim is to mobilize the community towards action for Uyghur and other ethnic minority Muslims who are facing severe oppression by the Chinese Communist Party in occupied East Turkestan (Xinjiang). Protesters used the hashtag #Stand4Uyghurs to demand the shutdown of China’s concentration camps in a Beijing crackdown against the practice of Islam in Xinjiang, where experts estimate that over one million Muslims are incarcerated.
